Honkanen, Elina
The subjects for my work come from warm emotions, like caring. I want my pieces to have a relationship with the human body, but I like to challenge the viewer to think about it, I don’t want to give obvious answers. The process of making something is somehow always as taking a leap of faith. It is every time a surprise, a walk in the dark before all becomes crystal clear and I see what my mind was after, what was the thing that needed to take a physical form. So often present in life and our memories, loaded with emotions, in good and in bad, jewellery is perhaps one of the most intimate things you can give to someone. These pieces carry a hint of magic in them.
